On their site, the Plastiscines list the Clash, the Libertines and the Kings of Leon among their influences. Isn’t that a little ambitious?

Judge for yourself, but to me their songs don’t exactly bring to mind a drugged-up Pete Doherty thrashing around on stage while his British “mates” yell stuff in the background.

Oh man: It’s always such a bummer coming home after a long vacay! Luckily, I’ve found something to ease the pain…AND prepare me for French V. Wow, talk about a killer deal!

Anyhoo if you haven’t heard “Ce Jeu” and/or “Je Veux Te Voir” by French electro-pop singer Yelle (whose lyrics suggest she could be continental Europe’s answer to Lily Allen/Kate Nash) then you are missing out on a totally ethnic crumble (?) of bubblegum greatness.

I’ll spare you the trouble of locating English-translation lyrics, although the best translation I could find for “Ce Jeu” was incomplete (WTF?!). I spent like half an hour last night trying to decipher the last half of the song, and the result is not even worth sharing. Online translators suck. So, sorry about that. (I mean, je suis désolée HAHA)

June 25: Au Revoir Simone will be DJ-ing at a fundraiser for the New York Civil Liberties Union. This fundraiser will “help the NYCLU continue to defend and promote the fundamental principles embodied in the Bill of Rights, the U.S. Constitution…” blah blah blah. 

YAY for charities though! If any of us were lucky enough to live in NYC, we would not be missing this. :(((
