For the second edition of Dream Movie Soundtrack, this time starring the instant classic “Fans” by Kings of Leon, we thought the first movie pitch could be a drama, called something like, oh I don’t know, how about When Lyrics Conflict: The Epic Tale of WHY THE FUCK DOES NO ONE KNOW THE REAL LYRICS TO THIS SONG?!
Ha. But truly, is there anything more upsetting than trying to find lyrics online to a song you luv, performed by a band with a lead singer whose vocals are so affected they suggest a major speech impediment, and coming up with 20 different “interpretations”? Someone’s got to know the real deal, right? Wrong. Check out these four different versions of the lyrics.
So aggravating! ANYHOO, back to the original purpose of this post. In our professional-blogger opinions, “Fans” would fit best at the end of the season
finale of a teen-soap series, one that’s set in New York, but not as frothy/fluffy/flaky as Gossip Girl, and would star like Emile Hirsch and some girl who looks like she might shop at Urban Outfitters and listen to bands like Kings of Leon.
Either that or it should play during the credits of a low-budget movie about kids who smoke pot, and at the end one of them dies. I KNOW, that’s intense.
